Day 3 – Mountains & Cabot Landing
Today’s hikes involved some great scenery on Tenerife Mountain and Money Point Gulch along with a relaxing walk along the 4 mile beach at Cabot Landing Provincial Park at Sugar Loaf. Over 100 hikers enjoyed the three hikes in a region called Top of the Island along the Cabot Trail.
Evening program was a tour of the St. Paul Island Museum and Lighthouse, Canada’s 1st heritage lighthouse, in Dingwall, NS where stories were told of the lighthouse keepers, facilities and working conditions. The museum featured many artifacts and photographs. Hikers were treated to a tour of the lighthouse and learned about codes, navigation, colors and how the light worked. Special thanks to our guides Ruby and Mallary for a great tour.
Day 4 hikes are centered in Meat Cove with registration at Welcome Centre. Lowland Cove at 9:00 am., Meat Cove Mountain at 10:00 am. and Little Grassy & Boardwalk hike at 2:00 pm.
