Day 2 – Virtual Festival
Hikers were busy the second day of the festival. The PEI gang hiked 17 km from East Point to North Lake and return along a great beach. Joyce from NL was hiking the Piping Trail overlooking the City of Cornerbrook. Dawn and her dog, Scooby, went to Otters Brook . The Highlands Gang were up Blueberry Mountain, and the Ottawa hikers on a trail in the greenbelt area.
The presentation – Cape Breton Highlands National Park (CBHNP) & COVID-19, Business Resumption: Changes & Challenges with Kelly Deveaux, Visitor Experiences Manager, CBHNP, was well received.
The Daily Poll question was on Parking lots. Because carpooling isn’t allowed during COVID-19, many parking lots are being filled up very quickly. The daily pool question – You arrived at your hiking trail and the parking lot is filled. What do you do? 89% said leave and go to another trail that has parking spots available. 11% said park on the road.
