Inventory – Hiking Gear
The month of March is a great month to do a spring inventory of your hiking gear and clothing. Inspect the condition of your gear & clothing to get ready for the upcoming hiking season. The photo to the left is a picture of waterproof gloves I found in a store in Lerwick, Shetland Islands in Scotland.
Below is a checklist I used to do an inventory of hiking gear & clothing :
1) hiking boots, hiking socks, poles, & gloves
2) daypack, rain cover, hiking watch, water bottles
3) rain gear – jacket & pants
4) base layers, mid-layers & jackets
5) first aid kit, sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses
6) hiking shorts, gaiters, & pants
7) hats & toques
8) camera(s), lens, batteries, chargers etc.
April is an exciting month for hikers as gear guides come out, another reason
to get your inventory done and see what needs to be replaced. Hikers can view
the latest gear and its reviews. There is information on trails, hiking skills and much more.
Plan now for the upcoming hiking season – new gear, trails to be hiked and festivals & events to attend and more.
