The really Big News – it is happening . The 19th Annual Hike the Highlands Festival, Sept. 9-18, 2022 on Cape Breton Island, will open registration on May 2nd, 2022. Hikers will have two options to participate in this years festival – 1) in person or 2) virtually. The registration fees remained the same as in 2021. The Hike The Highlands Festival board felt it was important to hold the fees the same as 2021 in lieu of all the things happening this year.
New in 2022 is the early bird registration which hikers will receive a special long sleeve hiking t-shirt if they register before August 5th, 2022. There will new hikes in 2022 along with hikes from the past coming back and much more. The festival takes place along the world famous Cabot Trail, Northern Cape Breton and the Cape Breton Highlands National Park on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
