Hike 3 breathtaking summits in one day!

The 14th Annual Cape Breton Highlands 3 Peaks Challenge will take place Saturday, June 22, 2024. Teams will hike 3 mountains in one day. They include 1) Roberts Mountain (4 km), 2) Corney Brook (6.5 km) and 3) Acadien (8.4 km). Teams hike approximately 19 km with an elevation of approximately 3500. The above short video (5 minutes) is a look back at last year’s event.  Enjoy. 

The 3 Peaks challenge is a team event that requires teams to hike 3 mountains in one day. Each  team consist of 4 members, one of which is a team captain. It is his/her responsibility to prepare the team for the event and make sure everyone on the team competes the event safely. Only 24 teams will be allowed to participate in this event. They can be all female, all male or mixed.

Team Registration fee for this event is $200.00 and includes a long sleeve t-shirt for each team member, cooling towels for each team member, one Cape Breton Highlands National Park park pass for one day, a map and other items.

The day will look approximately like this :
6:30 am.  Team registration at Pleasant Bay Fire Dept. parking lot, Red River.
6:55 am.  Group Photo
7:00 am.  The event begins – 1st Mountain – Roberts Mtn.
9:00 am.  Teams leave and travel to second mountain – Corney Brook.
                 (approx. 25-30 minutes drive)
9:30 am.  Teams arrive and hike 2nd Mountain – Corney Brook 
12:15 pm. Teams leave and travel to last mountain – Acadien ( approx. 10-12 minutes) 
12:30 pm. Teams arrive and hike the last mountain – Acadien 
4:30 pm.   Teams complete the last mountain & event. 

Please note :  Allow 45 – 55 minutes if you are staying in Cheticamp to get to Roberts Mountain in Pleasant Bay.
