The Review & Report of 2012 Resolutions
As the year comes to an end, it is time to look back at the wish list- the new year’s resolutions and see how I fared out. I believe like most, many if not all were achievable. Now it is time to take the list out and see what was actually accomplished…
1) 1000 kms hiking – felt short on that one…just like 2011..ended around 800 kms. maybe next year. I don’t want to become a fitness hiker and miss the views, nature and the outdoors.
2) Improve my photography skills and take more 5 stars pictures – I am happy to report I made great progress on this goal thanks to friends and a mentor – Wally Hayes…see one 5 Star pic below.
3) Wish list of challenges & new activities:
a) hike 100 kms in Hike the Highlands festival – done
b) Complete the Cape Breton Highlands 3 Peaks Challenge (3 mtns in one day) – done
c) Hike Snowdon – last of the UK 3 Peaks – Did not get to Wales in 2012
d) Cycle the Confederation Trail – 300 kms in 3 days – done
e) Hike the East Coast Trail , Newfoundland, Hike Cape Chignecto and Not Since Moses – did not do.
f) Highlands Challenge -hike all 26 trails in National Park – done
g) 4 million steps in Walkabout Program – done
In closing , I believe it is important to plan and have goals each year. Things happen during the year that you can’t control and make it very hard to reach some of the goals. But there is always next year. Remember the tests of life are not out to break you but to make you.
