Sunrise Hike a Success
It was so different seeing headlamps & flashlights with hikers at the Trail Head before the start of the festival’s first sunrise hike. Everyone was early for this hike. Thirty – four hikers headed out in the dark on the Middle Head trail at 6:00 am. Our guide, Tim Reynolds, kept us on a good pace to ensure we arrived in time before the sun came up. Hikers had about 10 minutes to get the cameras out and have them on the correct settings. The sun came up between Middle Head and Ingonish Island just a little after 6:40 am. Hikers had 20-30 minutes to enjoy the scenery and the sun coming up. Our group picture was taken – a tradition that started many years ago. A great start for Day 2 of Hike the Highlands Festival.
