Eagles and More
It was a spring day in the Cape Breton highlands, mid April, sunny and 16 degrees. A great day for a morning walk. My wife and I decided to go to same location were we spotted the immature eagle the other day. All the birds were out today…the first bunch we saw were the chicadees. I managed to get a few pictures of them. I remembered a tip from Wally Hayes, retired professional photographer with NS Tourism, keep your camera on, zoom out, sports setting and finger on the shutter button. Birds move quick.
Not much further we saw our first immature eagle. He heard us and took off. He later flew into a tree where lo and behold was another immature eagle. Managed to get a few quick pics when the the same immature took off again. He later joined one of his parents and flew with them for awhile. The other immature eagle stayed around and we got some nice pics of him/her.
We continued our walk and saw another immature eagle. That was our third one of the day but this one seemed older and had more white on his feathers. Coming back saw our same immature eagle in the tree. Got a few more pics…Later I spotted some dandelions out… seemed early. An interesting morning walk….can’t wait for my afternoon adventure.
