Day 4 – Special Places in Northern Cape Breton
[easingsliderlite]
Today’s hikes on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, were Money Point Light, Sugar Loaf and Cabot Landing. Each hike provided a different perspective and views. 60 plus hikers enjoyed the day hiking on a overcast day with sun and cloud. Photo credits of slideshow above – Greg Jurczyszyn and Tom Wilson.
Hikers on the Money Point Light hike were welcome by three horses and incredible coastal scenery. Some hikers might remember the horses at Cape St. Lawrence a few years back. Sugar Loaf hike was a tough hike with humidity but had amazing views on top of the summit – “You earn the view,” and Cabot Landing provided some great waves. Thanks to all the guides and sweeps for showing us some very special places in Northern Cape Breton. The day ended with an evening presentation on Hiking in Wales.
Today’s hikes – Day 5, September 16, are located in the community of Meat Cove. All three hikes begin at the Meat Cove Welcome Centre. Cape St. Lawrence – 9:00 am., Little Grassy & Boardwalk – 10:00 am. and Meat Cove Mountain at 2:00 pm. Take your camera – amazing views on all 4 hikes.
