One of the best way to capture your memories hiking at Hike the Highlands Festival is with a digital camera. Each year our festival hosts a photo contest and this year, 2008, we will be doing it again. The categories are as follows : Best Picture, Best Scenery, Best Flora (Plants & Trees) , Best Fauna (Wildlife) , and Best People shot. Winners received a Hike the Highlands Festival Pass for next year. Honorable mention for 2nd and 3rd place winners who are also featured on our website along with the winners.
You can view the 2007 winners and 2006 winners on the Hike the Highlands Festival website as well pictures of Sugarloaf hiking Trail by Wally Hayes, NS Tourism photographer. Pictures can’t be more than 2 meg each and you can summit them to the festival by e-mail or cd disk. Photos are great way to capture moments and experiences during this year’s hiking festival.
